Jazz-Funk Fusion Gruppe aus Washington D.C., USA

1973 war Donald Byrd an der Gründung und Co-Produktion der Blackbyrds beteiligt, einer Fusion-Band aus Musikern, die damals an der Howard University studierten, wo Byrd in der Musikabteilung unterrichtete und 1976 seinen Doktortitel in Rechtswissenschaften erhielt.
Reformiert 2012 von Keith Killgo.
