As the title suggests, this album places Perry in the then-fashionable offshoot of house music known as jungle that was defined by its mind-bogglingly fast beats and heavy electronics. As Perry's vocal contributions are delivered in his usual lazy, unhurried murmur, the contrast is often slightly jarring, yet the title track, "Why Complaining?" and the self-mythologizing "I Am Not a Human Being" are typically weird and wonderful. As is usually the case with their collaborations, the Mad Professor takes the lion's share of production and mixing duties, and Perry handles the vocals and a few of the instruments.
